FAQS
WHAT IS COUNSELING?
Counseling, sometimes referred to as therapy or psychotherapy, is when a person meets with a professional who helps that person address a variety of mental health issues that may be impacting the their life.
WHAT TYPES OF COUNSELING DO YOU OFFER?
At ARS Counseling, our focus is to help individuals and families reach their goals with effective, short term, evidenced based practices. An evidenced based practice is a type of counseling that has been researched with many different people. An example of an evidenced based practice used at ARS Counseling is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Your counselor will work with you to decide what methods of counseling are most appropriate for your needs.
